taxmap/instr/i1040ez-027.htm#TXMP529bc34dIf line 11a is under $1, we will send the refund only on written
request.
If you want to check the status of your refund, see
Refund Information
in Section 6. Before checking the status of your refund, please wait at least 72
hours after the IRS acknowledges receipt of your e-filed return (3 to 4 weeks
after you mail a paper return) to do so. But if you filed Form 8379 with your
return, allow 14 weeks (11 weeks if you filed electronically).
 | If your refund is large, you may want to decrease the amount of income tax withheld from your pay by filing a new Form W-4. See Income tax withholding and estimated tax payments for 2012 in Section
5. |
taxmap/instr/i1040ez-027.htm#TXMP48084abbAny refund you receive cannot be counted as income when determining if you or anyone else is eligible for benefits or assistance, or how much you or anyone else can receive, under any federal program or under any state or local program financed in whole or in part with federal funds. These programs include Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps). In addition, when determining eligibility, the refund cannot be counted as a resource for at least 12 months after you receive it. Check with your local benefit coordinator to find out if your refund will affect your
benefits.
